If you aren't progressing, you are going backwards

We are in Q4 now, coming up to the Christmas holiday break.

Whilst everyone is getting ready to wind down for the year - keep going. Don’t slow down, don’t become complacent.

If you are saying to yourself “we’ve worked hard all year, we need to make sure that we rest up a little bit and come back re-energised in the new year”, you’ll just stall and slip backward.


What you really need to do is keep progressing, keep pushing and keep trying to win.

Whether that’s growing your business, Whether that’s improving your client relationships, Whether that’s building efficiencies into processes…

…you just need to keep going, keep pushing.


And if you’re saying, “well, I’ve worked really hard, I just need some time to relax”, you need to ask yourself if you have the drive, and have you been spending too much time doing the wrong things?


This is an opportunity to reframe your mindset and say:

👉 Let’s build efficiencies so people can put their effort into the most valuable work.

👉 Let’s look at optimising how we’re delivering things so that we are not wasting time on lots of manual repetitive tasks.

👉 Let’s look at our relationships with our clients and ask are we delighting them, are we growing those accounts, or are we just milking them until they end up disappearing?


If you build robust processes, the right culture and have the right mentality of striving forward, you won’t just sit and coast.

You’re either moving forward or you’re moving backwards.

So make sure that you refocus.


Maybe have your conversation in the next week or so about what you’re going to do in 2024 as a business and as a team or as an individual in your own career.

What are you going to do?

Make a start now.

Don’t wait till January 1st.

Get ahead of the game.

When everyone else is slowing down, make sure that you keep your foot on the gas.
